Establishing an Attorney – Client Relationship

Please do not consider there to be an attorney-client relationship between you and Bushman Law Group. An Attorney-Client Relationship involves the mutual consent of two parties. This means not only do you have to accept us as your attorneys, but we also have to accept you as our client.

When we have had an opportunity to check and clear any conflicts and an attorney-client agreement is executed by all parties you are considered a client of our firm.

There are a number of reasons why we may not accept you as a client. Such reasons could be a conflict of interest, case load, area of law, merits of claim, personality conflicts, and others. Please do not represent that you are a client of our firm until you have signed our attorney-client agreement and have received it back executed by the attorney.

The use of the internet for communications with the firm does not establish an attorney-client relationship.

Clients of Referral Programs or Pre-Paid Legal Services

If you participate with a pre-paid legal plan through your employer or a referral service, this does not automatically establish you as a client of our law firm. We are your initial contact point for legal matters to establish an Attorney-Client Relationship. Please refer to the section titled Establishing an Attorney – Client Relationship for more information. Please do not represent that you are a client of our firm until you have signed our Attorney-Client Agreement and have received it back executed by the attorney.

Established Clients

If you have been a client of ours in the past and have a new legal matter you must call our office to make an appointment and establish this new case with an attorney. Please follow the process listed in the section titled Appointments.

Non-Responses to Communication Attempts

Please call 703-845-9070 and request to speak with the office manager or supervising attorney. In addition, please email escalation@bushmanlawgroup.com with the details of your attempted communications that have received no response.

A message left with our office after-business hours, on a weekend, or on a holiday that does not receive a response within 24 hours is not considered a non-response by our office. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST. Our office is closed on weekends and observes all federal holidays. You must contact us during our hours of operation. If you are unable to contact us during our hours of operation you should seek other legal representation.

Time Sensitive and Urgent Matters

If you believe you have a matter that is time sensitive or urgent you may email escalation@bushmanlawgroup.com . In your email please describe in detail why the matter is time sensitive or urgent. Bushman Law Group defines Time Sensitive as matters in which there is a pending court date within three days. Bushman Law Group defines Urgent matters as having imminent serious risk or harm to an individual.
